Wizards mix explosive, jinxed potions, brew quick dark spells, and forge zealous golems to guard the mystic crypt, while a vengeful phoenix hunts rogue knights across jagged battlefields, and elder dragons quietly plot their next move, summoning ancient hexes, unearthing buried relics, rallying a fractured legion beneath a blazing violet sky, and preparing every weapon for the final, exhausting siege before the exiled queen reclaims her shattered throne, yet deep within a frozen labyrinth, a young sorcerer discovers an obscure grimoire etched with forbidden runes, awakening a vast, slumbering leviathan whose jaws could swallow entire kingdoms, forcing every wizard, knight, and exiled noble to abandon old rivalries and unite beneath a single banner if they hope to survive the coming cataclysm, for even the wisest oracle cannot predict whether courage, cunning, or sheer luck will decide the fate of this fractured realm before the next zealous invasion begins.

Zur is a display typeface combining blackletter structure with humanist calligraphy. The capitals use the angular, diamond-tipped terminals of Gothic lettering. The lowercase uses open, rounded bowls closer to Renaissance-era rotunda scripts. It is neither strictly Gothic nor strictly humanist — closer to bastarda hands, where broad-nib calligraphy adapted formal blackletter for faster, more personal writing.

The baseline is uneven by design. Letters shift up and down as if drawn stroke by stroke rather than built from repeating modules. Stroke terminals — particularly on k, y, and the figures — show flicks and wedge cuts consistent with a cut pen or brush. The figures use old-style proportions, ascending and descending against the lowercase instead of standing uniform with the caps.

Zur is built for large sizes: titling, editorial headlines, packaging marks, and other settings where the handwork should remain visible. At small sizes, the irregularity that defines the design works against legibility. It is a display face, not a text face.
